As a psychologist and yoga teacher I have searched for many years for the most powerful interventions available to help individuals cope with this ever-changing fast-paced world.
What I have to teach is simple, but in this day and age of outcome, not easy. In a world that values individuals for what they produce rather than who they are, it can sometimes feel like we are swimming downstream whilst everyone is swimming upstream. “Hey”, they say, “it is this way”, whilst panting and gasping.
Perhaps our lives to do not have to look the way we think they should. Perhaps we do not have to be fighting so hard. Perhaps there might be more gained by learning to sit with ourselves in stillness whilst we observe what it is that is driving us. Perhaps there is more to be gained by time-out instead of time-on.
When you learn to be present to the moment you can be flowing with the beauty and ride the tides of life. In being present you are more able to touch the magic and mystery of life. And to discover this truth; "you are perfect as you are". Nothing needs to be added or taken away. And you have within you all the wisdom that you need.
Be-Awake is about finding a way to be ourselves. Of reminding ourselves that we are enough as we are, and this moment is all that there is. That’s it!
AWAKE: 1. TO ROUSE TO ACTION; BECOME ACTIVE 2. TO COME OR BRING TO AN AWARENESS
"TO LIVE IS THE RAREST THING ON EARTH, MOST PEOPLE MERELY EXIST" Oscar Wilde.
